Diaries, Logs and Journals

Diary – personal, meant to be secret, full of intimate details.

Example: The Diary of Anne Frank

Logs – professional, meant to be factual, detailed and will be read by superiors as evidence of your actions

Journals – think of them like blogs. They are personal but are written with the understanding that they will be read, either in the immediate future or after your death. They record daily events as well as reflections on events.
